Material Study

Compelling form does not duplicate reality, but deviates from it in unexpected ways. In this photography series, everyday objects – natural and manmade – stretch a latex sheet into strange sculptures, distorting what we know into something else entirely.

Similar to the way in which packaging forms are extruded, these sculptures push their way out of a “machine” hacked together with a wood frame. A variety of lighting effects change the mood of the rubber from dark, to alien, to punk.
